Sandra Cannon, Owner:
Formally trained as an architect. Informally trained as a filmmaker. I worked for 11 years as an architect for such firms as Skiddmore, Owings and Merrill, Gensler and Associates and Charles Pfister. In the fall of the economy of the early 90's I studied filmmaking and worked on many independant feature films in many positions.

First Camera: Nikon, 1984

Current Cameras: All Digital, Canon 6.3 megapixels and Sony 8 megapixels.

Favorite photography subject matter, yacht racing and whales. Both are challenging from the water which is part of the intrigue. Probably best at archectecture and interior photography with a lot of experience there. Architecture does not move and you can spend an hour or two setting up the shot and the lighting.

Consider myself a pioneer on the internet. Was best at marketing new media types, new technologies and developing online business plans. Bought an early digital camera to assist my clients in executive bio photography. online catalogs and capturing images for web sites. Look what happened.

Aerial Photography is an area we are currently growing. I have more and more requests for aerial ships, aerial architecture and event assignment photography and more access to helicopters. Unfortunately, even with better access to helicopters, I have not been able to bring the costs down, and usually the base starting price is about $750.00 for two hours with a CD of images as deliverable and selected prints additional.

I use Cafe Press to out source poster printing for www.sfbayposters.com. They have done a great job and printed up 1000 posters for the York Hotel Guest Rooms.

I use Pictopia and Ofoto to outsource Type C photographic prints. Look for photographic prints to come under that cover.

I print Giclee prints 11x14 and smaller myself and have a local company print my larger giclee prints. Giclee means squirt in French. I use epson archival quality printers with premium papers and original epson archival inks.
